PERKESA members visited Matec in Hokkaido, Japan — one of the leading international metal recycling and processing companies. The site visit focused on exploring large-scale industrial operations, advanced recycling systems, and forging stronger ties between Malaysia and Japan’s metal industries.

KEY INSIGHTS

Exposure to numerous advanced high-capacity systems boosting efficiency in ferrous, non-ferrous, and ELV.

Focus Areas

SOP improvements, technology adoption, and sustainability alignment to support Malaysia’s circular economy goals.

Key Learnings & Outcome

The visit provided first hand exposure to innovation, compliance and sustainability, offering a benchmark for local industry growth. Members gained strategic insights into scaling operations, strengthening credibility and building cross-border partnerships. This global exchange paves the foundation for future cooperation while reinforcing PERKESA’s role to empower members through knowledge, advocacy,
