Malaysia–Laos Partnership for a Stronger Circular Economy

PERKESA was honoured to participate in a warm and constructive meeting with His Excellency Thepthavone Sengmany, Ambassador of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Malaysia, alongside representatives of Kenanga Waja Sdn Bhd.

The engagement was attended by Dato G Kumaar Aamaan DIMP, President of the Malaysian Recycling Empowerment Association (PERKESA) and Chairman of Kenanga Waja Sdn Bhd. The discussion reflected a shared interest in strengthening Malaysia–Laos relationships while identifying meaningful areas for future cooperation.

The dialogue explored opportunities connected to recycling-industry development, knowledge exchange, responsible cross-border trade, resource recovery and circular-economy practices. It also highlighted the value of connecting credible industry participants with diplomatic and institutional partners to support transparent, sustainable growth.

As Malaysia and Laos continue to deepen regional ties, PERKESA believes the recycling sector can contribute to stronger environmental outcomes, more resilient material supply chains and new channels for responsible business collaboration across ASEAN.
